The Phoenix

This piece is the namesake and was the first one my "Phoenix" series. This became a jumping off point for a new body of work that became pivotal in my artistic journey. This is an extremely special and evocative piece.
In mythology, when a phoenix's life comes to an end, it's body bursts into flames, but that is not the end of it's journey; it rises from the ashes, reborn and restored to even stronger than it was before. I have had many "phoenix" moments in my life, and I am honored to share this with you, and hope you find encouragement to embrace your own Phoenix journey.
The vivid colors of this stunning piece have been created by using a multi-layered glazing and color technique. Many thin layers of paint have been patiently applied over an extended period of time to create this luminous piece. In it's complexity, there is depth, but still a spaciousness that almost illuminates a glow of light. 
 
Beautifully finished edges and ready to hang safely on your wall with a cleanly installed wire on the back.
